Updates, Application, Deposit/Adoption Fee, Recommendations, Sample Contract, and Waiting List

Updates:
1-30-26 Liberty is getting rounder and rounder....
1-21-26 Liberty is a tad plump. Yesterday we started the 3rd trimester when most of the weight comes on. I'm getting excited!!! The theme of this group will be "Chocolate" - In particular, Cummings Studio Chocolates - A family business in Utah that my nieces run - The Best Chocolates in the world!
1-12-26 Hi Rheta R !! ...Miss you/love you/mean it.... You are a dear, dear friend!! Health and happiness always.
1-6-26 Three to five days before birth, I'll post the x-ray so you can help count puppies. Whoever wins will get a marrow bone when they first visit (to put in their freezer).
1-5-26 Liberty has gone off food (she picks at what she wants) which is not unusal at this stage. On the calendar, I have marked February 11 (plus or minus 2 days). When we are a couple days out, I'll start taking her temperature. A dogs normal temp is 101.5 and so when she drops below 100, labor is eminent within 24 hours.
12-12-25 Liberty was bred on the 9th via a surgical insemination with semen shipped overnight from backeast. The procedure placed the collection into each fallopian tube. Everything went well and we'll know in the about 4 weeks if it took followed by an x-ray at 9 weeks just prior to whelping. The photo will be posted here and the home page for you to share and count pups. In the meantime, the sire I choose, threw the puppies on the home page, second row (3 pics/beautiful).
12-5-25 Liberty will be bred next week. Pups would go home in the late Spring. Prior updates have been removed.

If you click on the images below, they will pop up in a larger window.

Visiting:
Prior to a family making the selection of their pup (7th week), they may start visiting them at 4 weeks and weekly thereafter. Before puppies are born, prospective owners may come to the house and meet us, see where the pups will be raised, and ask any questions. We are in Burien in the Seahurst neighborhood. After the puppies go home and since they should not be around other dogs until they are fully vaccinated, I offer playdays every two weeks until they are 4 months old. This gives the owners a chance to talk and the puppies to play in a safe enviroment. Annually, (in the summertime) there is a reunion that families are welcomed to come back for.

Adoption Fee:
The adoption fee is $2,900 (plus Washington State Sales Tax) less a $500 deposit (sent with the questionnaire below), that has families making their puppy pick at 7 weeks and the puppies go home on the 8th week. Zelle is available for any payment.

Time Frame and Deposits Submitted:
Typically there are 5-10 puppies in a litter. The families shown below will be choosing based on the date of their deposit. Once a deposit is placed, the owner has the option of the current litter, or to wait for the next litter. If identified, their preference of sex, size and coloring is shown and helps me choose the appropriate sire for those highest on the list.

Families for the upcoming litter are shown below (but what may change) are the sex, coloring, and weight they desire:
1. Theresa and Ed - Female - Bi or Tri - 35# (Rollover from 2025 - will pick this time)
2. Dave and Gretchen - Either - Tri - 40-55#
3. Evette and Daughters - Either - Tri - 25-35#
4. Amy and Pamela - Male - Tri - 40+# (2-1-26 - Need to rollover for next breeding)
5. Lara, Dan and Family - Either - Bi or Tri - 35-55#
6. Daniel and Janis - Female - Tri - Any#
7. Matt and Jen - Male - Tri - #tbd
8. Braden and Lauren - Female - Tri - 35#
9. Jill and Tim - Female - Tri - 35#

Managing the List:
In the event a litter is larger than anticipated, or if a family needs to rollover, those lower on the list will be contacted to determine their interest. If someone does rollover, they will be placed on the list numerically, based on the date of their deposit but in the next litter they must choose a pup or forfeit their deposit. If anyone can think of something more fair, please advise.

We thought this was funny...There is a series of 3 photos that we put in a loop. Notice the basket getting further away from the wall then a puppy coming up the back bumps her off.
